[atrb=background,http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z431/poshiloh/Children%20of%20the%20Stars/info.png] 600 words for anyone. "Amused me, at the very least. Hopefully it'll give you a chuckle too <3" |
[atrb=background,http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z431/poshiloh/Children%20of%20the%20Stars/text.png] [scrolly:h(160),w(452),sy] The sun was just peeking into the rocky cavern, lighting it up with a soft golden glow that didn't set the rocks to glare back as they so often did on a clear greenleaf day. The breeze was chilly, carrying down a few small flakes of frosty snow, but not more than a couple now and then. With the cloud clear from the sky, the little tabby kit looked up, judging the temperature, the barely present snow fall. Even on the ledges, like the one upon which she sat, there was no snow, no ice, just the thinnest layer of frost. It was to be a warm day, it would seem, or perhaps the warmer days before were just fooling her into such thoughts. She wasn't sure. Most wouldn't be up this early, but Falconkit rather enjoyed the sunrise. It was a peaceful thing, and Falconstar in her head rather disliked early mornings and so she was left alone in quite thought. She wasn't quite sure how a spirit could tell what time of the day it was, or why it would make a difference, but quite honestly, the kit didn't care either. Of course, usually being left alone and always being left alone were hardly the same things. What are you doing up so early? The sun's hardly risen; what did you expect to accomplish by being the first one awake? The tone that resounded in her head, for her knowledge only, was laced with bitterness. Now, normally Falconstar was a pleasant voice or apparition. Sure, having her always there was a little annoying at times, but Falconkit generally loved the starclanner, and she knew that the starry cat cared deeply for her as well. However, when she actually ended up waking up, or some sort of dead equivalent to it, at some godforsaken early hour, such as this, she was hardly the most pleasant to converse with. The kit sighed, tail tip twitching once and then laying still. I'm allowed to wake up when I please with or without reason. Now, do I have to turn the manners lecture mum gives Sparkkit around on you? I would have hoped you would be old enough to have some by now, being dead for seasons and all. There was a vaguely amused, yet vaguely displeased, rumble in her head, then a slight glare from the figure that appeared next to her, a spitting image, only larger. Not that anyone would see. Falconkit had learned that one a long time ago - or at least, relatively long considering her age. She jerked her head to the side, avoiding the ghostly cuff to the ears. Arrogant little brat. Remind me why I like you again? |
Because you were the exact same way, you just didn't have a reason to be like I do.
A faint smile danced across the eyes of both felines, a soft chuckle coming from the one with little glowing specks like stars. Falconkit puffed her chest out proudly, slightly astonished she had made Falconstar smile so early in the morning, but not about to say a word about it as she returned her gaze towards the quiet camp as it began to gently stir, early morning patrols begin to wake and stretch cold muscles before they got to work.
And maybe, just maybe, one of them would be kind enough to take her out of camp for a few hours. It got awfully boring after five moons, after all.
