breeding | birthing newleaf, It's been a rough leafbare, with little prey to be found in any clan, but it would seem the weather is turning around. The snow is melting quickly under a warm sun, and in some spots there are even small plants beginning to grow, pushing their way through the snow. Streams and rivers are threatening to overflow, though, and there's still more runoff on the way. The occasional rainstorms aren't helping matters any there, but at least the prey is becoming plentiful again. Things are looking up - for now.
rules and guides (1 sub-board) Yeah. This stuff. Every place has this super important stuff you need to read. Even us. So, read it. Know it. Follow it. Or else we'll find you.
announcements Just about as important as the stuff up above. The only difference is, this stuff is things such as, changes to the site you should look at, or the opening of a staff position. It's highly suggested you keep up with this stuff, too, just in case it affects you.
in character events All events that occur within character and to large groups, such as treacherous storms or battles between clans (not simple border skirmishes), will be posted here. In most cases, these will be spanning multiple topics and multiple angles. For weather-related events, it will affect all cats in the given area. For battles and other such things, if you don't want to take part you don't have to.

welcoming and leaving Are you a new member, maybe? Would you like to say hello? Well, you can come do that in this board right here, if you like! I'm sure many of the members will stop by, drop a quick hello right back. Or were you planning going on a vacation for a bit? Well, you can post that here too, and just let us know so we don't label you as inactive or anything.
graphic design If you wish to find someone to make you a picture for your cat, or you want to offer to make pictures for people, post here. If you want, you can make a topic as a graphics shop. If we get enough of them, they’ll have their own sub-board.
advertising and affiliating (4 sub-boards) If you'd like to advertise that lovely little site of yours, you come here and only here. We don't really have many rules. If you post twice, we'll post twice, end of story. Of course, don't take this and post five times in the same day. A month or two apart is fine, though, or an accidental re-post. Affiliates must have our banner up, but ads need only have a guest-friendly advertising board. Guest friendly!
archives (1 sub-board) All finished or dead topics will be moved here to keep clutter off the boards. This will be done on a monthly basis, as needed. If you need a topic back, just message a staff member and they’ll get right on it.
applications To make a character, you fill out the form inside and post it in the board. A staff member will look it over and either ask you to change something or accept it and move it into the appropriate sub-board in the accepted section.
accepted (6 sub-boards) All accepted characters will be moved here and sorted into the appropriate sub-board. Once your application is moved here or there is a reply to it stating that it is accepted, you may start roleplaying.
clan rosters A record of all cats within a clan and their position will be stored here. They will be updated regularly, but if your cat's position, mentor, or number of lives (in the case of leaders) changes, please feel free to message a staff member or post in the appropriate roster thread.
adoption Any player may put their characters up for adoption here, including kits from litters or cats they no longer have use for. Any members who get deleted will have their characters moved here, with any of their high ranking felines being demoted to warrior status.
kitting If you and another player would like yours cats to have a litter of kits, please come here. There are steps inside for you to follow, so just follow those and things will go smoothly.
records If you would like to keep track of all your characters in a single place, you’re welcome to make a topic here. However, please keep it to one topic with all your characters within it. You can post as many times as you like in that topic and you can organize the record however you want, though.

plotting If you have any plot ideas, or you want to find people to form plots with, then this is the perfect place. Plot ideas, even as big as site wide, are welcome to be posted up – honestly, we’re all in this together, so if you have a neat idea for the site and everyone else likes it to, we’ll probably implement it.
the camp Stormclan's camp is found in a crater that was made many, many seasons ago. It has since grown over with fresh grass and bushes, though there are no trees within the crater, only surrounding it. The ground is uneven enough still that the cats can lay branches and plants over top of the deeper dips to form dens, and they weave a wall of branches around the crater as well.

the territory The land is blanketed in trees, leaving little gaps for sunlight to reach through but nothing more. The forest is lush and covered with various bushes and leafy plants, and it tends to stay a little drier than the other territories because of the thick leaf cover.

seaclan
the camp On one far edge of the beach, the sand shifts to rock and stretches out into the ocean rather like a natural dock. Seaclan has made their camp here, out on the tip were the rocks get lightly sprayed with water making for treacharous footing - at least for cats who aren't used to he slippery slide of damp, smooth stone.
the territory Seaclan's territory is considerably open, hosting many meadows here and there as well as rivers winding through the trees and causing gaps in the cover. Despite this, it is far from the open moorlands of Skyclan as it is mostly flat and there are quite a few more trees. The territory runs along a beach, as well, making for very soft ground for battle training to prevent injuries.

shadeclan
the camp Shadeclan has made it's camp by weaving vines and branches around a particular area, and then separating this area into dens. If they fear that others nkow where their camp is, they simply leave and build a new camp elsewhere. The walls around the outside of the camp have thorn-filled foliage set in them, making it appear rather imposing and dangerous to an outsider.

the territory Although mostly forested, Shadeclan territory is also incredibly damp. Where there isn't any sort of marshland, there is normally puddles and such. Still, the water is never particularly deep, making it more of a mudtrap than anything else.

skyclan
the camp Deep within the recesses of a particularly deep canyon lies a series of tunnels and alcoves. The skyclan cats have made their home here. Only one of the tunnels that is easily accesible leads to the higher levels, making the dens particularly safe as most cats have difficulty climbing the sheer cliff face.

the territory Moorlands cover half of Skyclan's territory, leaving the land open to the heat of the sun in greenleaf or the chill of leafbare's wind. The other half is further from the clan borders and is a series of hills, cliffs and canyons with various tunnels scattered throughout the cliff faces.

the moonlit clearing The Moonlit Clearing is were gatherings are held every full moon. The trees part, leaning away from the clearing to let the moon in. A large rock juts out from the Stormclan and Shadeclan border, and works as the leader's perch. It is known as the Clanrock.

the starcavern A pitch black tunnel runs alongside the second river, and the water pools in a cavern that has small holes all over the top, making it appear to have stars in the water. The cats come here to speak with starclan. The water, of course, would overflow if there wasn't a way for it to get out, but no one knows how.

across the thunderpath The town has long since been abandoned, making monsters a very rare occurrence and the gardens of the abandoned houses free reign for herb picking, if you dare enter this area at all. There is rumor of rogues and loners starting to pop up in small numbers, providing a new potential threat for the clans who have never really had to deal with such things before.

life after death
the stars There have been tales of these cats since the beginning of the clans, and you know them well. These are the cats of starclan, those pure at heart who have diligently followed the warriors code or tried their best to. Even loners and the occasional rogue may find themself here amongst the honored ranks, if they are deemed good enough.

the midgrounds Covered with what can only be described as a gray ash, this place seems dim and dusty, like nothing could ever shine or grow here. It is not haunted by the same darkness that rules the abyss, but it certainly isn't bathed in light. Cats who believe they belong in the abyss, though they don't, or cats who have not come to terms with the evils in their lives tend to be stuck here in this sort of limbo between the light and the dark.

the abyss Traitorous and murderous cats of all clans, or even no clan at all, come here after they die. The clans know this dark side of their ancestors as Nightclan, others simply refer to them as cats of the abyss, but either way it doesn't change the darkness that looms over this portion of the sky. Not a single star lights the abyss and the shadows almost appear to move on their own. With the cats who live here added into the mix, this place can be absolutely terrifying.

Welcome to Children of the Stars! CotS has had a bit of a long, drawn out history over the years, off and on through different versions and even a spinoff. However, after quite some time away, it is now taking a brand new start, from all the way back at the original plot. Now moved from a free for all, no word count minimum, to an intermediate to advanced, literate warriors roleplaying site requiring a minimum of 100 to 150 words depending on your character's position, we hope to welcome you into our ranks either again or for the first time.
Best viewed in Google Chrome. Can be viewed in Safari or Mozilla Firefox, though Firefox 7 causes images that would normally not stretch the board to stretch it in topics. Internet explorer is not suggested. It does not work well with posting tables or the image map, nor does it allow the PM bar to follow as you scroll like it should. Everything else is compatible, as far as we are aware. Please alert us to any issues in the comments and concerns board, as it is guest friendly.

If you've returned and would like to reclaim one, go peer into our lovely new archive sub board. Otherwise the month preparing announcement has been updated. Please go look at it.
--- Whitey10/24/2011: Alright guys, go check the announcements. It's time to shift back into gear and get CotS rolling, as stated you all will have until the twenty-fifth to get things finished. If for whatever reason you cannot finish it then, we'll give you an extension until the twenty-seventh, after that the code will be PMed to you. We need some advertisements out there, and rule eight has been modified, be sure to look it over. We have a lot of fun stuff planned, but we need characters and members first.
